How much is the tour?
Our tour is $70 per person, lunch is also included in the price, a tour guide and driver, the bus and walking. We usually drive around 260 km in a day to the Blue Mountains
Are there any extra charges?
There are no extra charges on a normal day at The Happy Coach Sydney. We do recommend to bring a little bit of extra money for morning tea and drinks, or you can bring your own
We are of a certain age group, will this tour be suitable for us?
On our tour, there are people of all age groups from all demographics from all over the world coming to walk through the forest with us! If you like a good healthy walk, you will love our tour. There is a medium level of fitness required, if you can walk up the stairs without stopping in a building that is 5 floors high with no problems, then you will be fine on our tour
Do we catch the ferry or river cruise home?
No we don’t drop at the ferry (or river cruise) which takes you back to Circular Quay to leave you to make your own way home, we drop you back in the city. We previously had the ferry as an option to return to Sydney, but we found that after doing a full days tour and walking, almost everyone preferred to get dropped back to the city instead.
If you have a group of at least 4 people, we can take you to the ferry for an extra $10 per person, and you pay the ferry tickets yourself on top of that(usually less than around $10). We do not take responsibility for this portion of the day as it is not part of our recommended itinerary.
Do we visit Scenic World?
We do not normally visit Scenic World. It is not part of our normal itinerary, but a lot of people ask about visiting there as it is a fairly standard addition to most Blue Mountains tours.
If you have a group of 4 or more people, we can take you to Scenic World for an extra $10 per person, and you must pay the entry fees on top of that. We do not recommend to go there during some of the peak seasons (start of January, Xmas, Easter, School holidays etc) as it can be very busy and there is no guarantee you will be able to get the full experience when it is very crowded. There will be times of the year we may flatly refuse to visit there, as at the peak season it can be very very busy. Ridiculously busy.
The tickets and prices for the ticket are your responsibility to purchase or pay for. We can buy the tickets for you, but we cannot guarantee the price or availability. Most of the year we can purchase the tickets for you with no problem, but they change the prices all the time, even weekdays and weekends have a different rate now. The price is around $45 for all of the rides and we would usually give you around 1.5 – 2 hours to visit there whilst we are doing other activities, most likely a hike in another area.
If you choose to go to Scenic World, the rest of the group that is on the normal tour will be conducting alternative activities which you will not participate in.
We do not take any responsibility for the Scenic World portion of the tour, if you wish to go there it is completely up to you, it is not part of our recommended itinerary. We will try to advise you best as we can if we think it is a good time to visit there based on what we know.
No Wildlife parks?
We don’t visit wildlife parks on our tour. We can give you great advice on were to see and visit animals and parks in your own time. We have done tours with wildlife parks included, and you really don’t get enough time to stay and see enough animals and go to the mountains to get a full good day. If you love animals, like me, you will want to spend as much time as you can with them. Most tours will only let you stay at a wildlife park for 40 mins to 1 hour. They have a lot to cover in one day, and limited time
Due to a lot of Australian animals being nocturnal and the places we visit, we cannot guarantee wildlife. We do see lots of various animals at all times of the year. The only issue is wild animals are very hard to predict! Generally there are a lot of beautiful birds and reptiles in the mountains. There are occasions that we have seen all sorts of animals though.
I have a special dietary requirement, will I be okay?
Our food is prepared fresh, the ingredients are separate and we can cater for most standard dietary requirements. It is best if you tell us what your requirements are, and we will do our best to accommodate you! Gluten free are a little difficult as we usually have wraps or bread. You may need to bring a little bit of gluten free bread and you can use our ingredients
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 48 hour 100% payment cancellation policy on reserved spaces on tours
Do you have minimum numbers of passengers to run the tour?
Yes, we require at least 8 people to run the tour. There is a small possibility we may have to cancel the tour if we don’t have enough passengers to cover costs, which is very rare
Do you have a discount rate for children/seniors/people with a card from an organisation?
Sorry! Everyone pays the same amount on Happy Coach!
I have a medical condition, will I be okay?
We do a fair amount of walking on our tour, we recommend that you need to be of a medium level of fitness. The example I often use is, if you can walk without stopping up the stairs in a building that is 5 floors high with no problems, then you will be fine on our tour. If you do have a concern, please ask us first and discuss it with your tour guide on the day
Why is your tour so much cheaper than others?
That’s a good question! We really should make it more expensive shouldn’t we?!
Do you offer other tours?
We sure do! We offer other tours to lots of destinations, but we only offer them as full day full bus charters. Please contact us for details
